I’m delighted to be featuring Faye Cornhill this month, a hybrid shooter from the United Kingdom. She uses Pro Set III for her digital work to achieve a soft pastel look that complements her work with film. Faye was shortlisted by Professional Photographer Magazine for ‘Wedding Photographer of the Year’ in 2013, shortlisted for Best Photographer – London & South East by The Wedding Industry Awards in 2014, and since 2015 is the preferred supplier for Bijou Weddings, who own some of England’s most exclusive venues.
“I’m a fine art wedding and portrait photographer based in Amersham, Buckinghamshire. I adore film and love shooting on my Mamiya 645 and my Nikon F100. I try to incorporate as much film as I can into my wedding and portrait work. I love the magic of film. The nostalgic feel of the camera in my hands, the whirring sound of the film advancing and of course the painful wait to see the results of your work. I love the dynamic range of film – the very dark darks, the wonderful contrast and the unmistakable pastels. I also very much still love my digital cameras and currently shoot using Nikon D750s. I love the lightweight body and the incredible performance. Thankfully I can switch lenses between my F100 and D750. To ensure my film and digital work matches I use Rebecca’s beautiful range of presets. They make my workflow quick, painless and actually fun. I love seeing my images instantly come to life. My absolute favourites are Amethyst and Audrey.”
